|March 12, 2017: Molsky's Mountain Drifters|
Last here in 2012, Bruce Molsky is one of the finest old-time fiddlers in the world today, the defining virtuoso of Appalachia's timeless traditions. He performs on fiddle, voice, banjo and guitar, both solo and with varied groups including Mozaik and Fiddlers Four. He has appeared with Aly Bain, Ale Möller, Mark O'Connor, Nickel Creek, and many others. Though Appalachian music is his deepest wellspring, Bruce is equally at home with a Swedish dance, an English ballad or a Romanian gypsy tune. Mark O'Connor praises his "mystical awareness of how to bring out the new in something old," and Linda Ronstadt says, "there's an incredible power of history and tradition in his vocals." We're excited to welcome him back with his new band, Molsky's Mountain Drifters. The trio features clawhammer banjo wizard Allison de Groot, whom you may have heard with her band The Goodbye Girls, and rising bluegrass guitarist Stash Wyslouch. Prepare to be transported.
